Experience You Can Trust

With three years of service under my belt, I understand the ins and outs of the District's work, our past and future budget, our strengths, and the ways we can grow.During my first term I have insisted on responsible spending of public money, increased transparency, and prioritized equity. I've written and passed good governance rules that clarify the Board's responsibilities and supported a strategic planning process that explicitly centers environmental justice. Thanks to this work, I've been chosen unanimously by my colleagues to serve as Board Vice Chair and Auditor.When you re-elect me, I won't skip a beat. I'll keep on with the work I know and love, serving the people of King County and our soil, water, and forests.

Equity - making our work fairer

We know that climate change is real, and that we can't do conservation work without considering it. We also know that our Black, brown, and indigenous neighbors are most impacted by climate change, but have the least resources to fight it. That's why I view all of our work through an equity lens.I'm helping craft a new strategic plan that explicity centers environmental justice and climate change. I also support changes to our programs that improve access and outcomes for Black and Indigenous people, people with disabilities, and people whose first language isn't English.

Elections That Work For Everyone

The King Conservation District Board controls $12.5 million dollars of public money every year, yet our names never appear on a paper ballot. We get ONE PERCENT voter turnout. This isn't democratic! But I'm going to fix it.You deserve a Conservation District election that is accessible, predictable, and trustworthy, just like every other election. I'll work with the county and the state to bring our elections into the modern era.

Growing Local Agriculture

What's better than a box of fresh farmers market blueberries? I'm committed to bringing local food to local people, and supporting local farmers seed to stove. During my first term King CD spent millions of dollars growing King County's farm economy, and in the next three years I'll find new partnerships and funding sources to help more farmers feed more people.I'll also protect King County farmland from its biggest threat - development. I'll use our position as trusted experts to tell the city and county to keep homes where homes go and not let urban sprawl devour our farms.
